The Kiwi Orogastric Bougie (often referred to as the Kiwi-Grip bougie) is a technique used to assist with difficult airway intubation, especially in emergency or solo-provider situations. It involves preloading an endotracheal tube (ETT) onto a bougie and curling the proximal end back through the Murphy eye of the tube, allowing the clinician to control both the bougie and tube with one hand. This method increases operator confidence and control, especially when assistance is limited. The bougie typically measures around 60–70 cm and features a curved (coude) tip for easier tracheal guidance.
